Cold is definitely relative, not just to the person, but for me to the time of year. In May, 50F seems cold (though in December it would be balmy). That's what we had for most of the month, but for the last week it's been in the 70s and 80s, which is much nicer.
Francis, I felt that shiver all the way from Chicago to here in England. We have had very poor weather and in fact it seems that winter is now the only season we can be sure of. Oh, I suppose we may have one or two above freezing days. Almost summer!!

The poem reflects a cool breeze very well.
Makes me wonder, as a Swede, if coldness is perhaps a matter of how you define it. ;) But on the other hand it is really warm here now.

WE are also in the throes of sickening humid heat.... and no relief in sight for awhile. This was a shiver in words.... thanks!
ah... your comments on your poems kill them, Francis!!!
:)
sorry crow cannot hold her tongue!
this poem is not just about the weather... it goes much beyond that...
this is always so... poetry is those simple experiences and words that resonate different chords in different people's hearts...
this is one of your best short works...
love it and feel it...
@Eileen Here's wishing you some warmth!
@Harlequin Chicago is known for its weather surprises, so I can't rule out another cool spell before the summer heat settles in.
@hb Maybe I should hold mine then :D. Yes, there's another level beyond the weather to this, but my comments only skim the surface.
