My frustration with it exactly! Well, that and the total lack of acknowledgment of archaeological and anthropological evidences that may not coincide with doctrine. But I really should get off my soap box now. After all, it is Sunday.

If you read the history of it, it's pretty interesting to see how vital a lot of these rituals once were, but then either out of laziness or the need for control, they became very scripted and superficial. Now I'm up on that soap box with you :).
