@Cooper I don't want to draw attention to its deficiencies, but I goofed a bit toward the lower right (it's hard to see in the smaller version). I also wanted the flower to be more reminiscent of the eye's iris. I may try again in a different medium later. If you'd like the original, I'm happy to give it to you :).
@Jena I'm still figuring out what I'm doing, so I'm glad people find the drawings interesting. I would never compare myself to a master like Monet. Chicago's Art Institute isn't knocking at my door yet :). Thanks for the award!
@JD I'll take "very cool" as a reaction any day :).
@David Absolutely, but my problem is the sometimes chasm between thought and execution.
Hmmm...makes me think of the agapanthus in bloom now, or maybe the hydrangea, or even the plumbago. I love blue flowers. Really blue flowers. They're different, and I like different.
@Kelly I love blue flowers too ... especially the dark blue ones. I had to look up agapanthus ... there are a lot of flowers I don't know the names of.
@Petra This one is 8.5 x 11 inches (standard sketchbook). I have a slightly bigger sketchbook as well, but I need to start working in larger formats. Of course that will mean using paint.

I'll take it. What do you mean, how did you want it to turn out. It's perfect.
Yes, I agree with Cooper. The color combination is so right...I can't help but admire your talent.
Your drawings have a totally unique characteristic of their own, like a Monet , perhaps?
I think I would be able to recognize your work of art in an array.
I wanted to say more, but I can't seem to find the right words at the moment...
It is superb!
Hi Francis,I have awarded you the Arte Y Pico award at my Gewgaw Writings Blog. I know you deserve the award.
Cheers!
After perusing your art the best thing my nephew and I could come up with was .... cool man. Very cool.
Take care.

It's the thought that counts. :)

Very nice drawing - how big do you do these?
Greetings, Petra

I really, really like this! The colors are very beautiful.
Hope you're doing well!

That's beautiful. I really like the curves/ scrolling of the petals.
@Elise I'm very partial to blues myself. So much so that my blue pencils are just nubs. I'm doing well. I hope you are too.
@Laura Yeah, I kind of violated some laws of nature with my representations of the petals :).
I think it's beautiful.
Thanks very much LSF :).
This is beautiful! I love the detail in the linework.
I like it very much!
I found it fascinating Francis..and I wouldn't have found a flaw...well done
I love it. Absolutely beautiful!
Chungyen, Thank you. I can get a bit obsessive shaping the drawing the way I want.
Susan, Thanks! Are you on your way to Chicago yet?
Robert, I've gotten pretty good at obscuring problem areas, but they bother me nonetheless.
Angel, Thanks ... I really appreciate the positive feedback.
