Muted tongues

This is the first in a series of illustrations I promised to Hanna for a self-published poetry book she is planning to release in the fall. If I seem periodically absent from the blog over the next few weeks, it's because I'm diligently working to create more of these drawings (among other things).

Don't mute too long. I just discovered you, and would like to see more current stuff.

Muted tongues is apt for this. Good luck with your next venture.

@Confused I'll still be around ... I just wanted to let folks know there may be a few days between posts until I get caught up on some things.

@Jack I don't think I could stay mute for more than a week without exploding.

@Hanna Happy vacation!

@Jena I have many concurrent ventures that I'm trying to juggle with mixed success :).

Makes you wonder what they are all blabbing about. At least they are quiet, muted. :)

@Guy Just don't play whack-a-mole with me when my head raises out of its hole :).

@Laura I just had dinner at a Mexican restaurant with a friend who ordered tongue, which was not only muted but sliced ... gave me the willies :).

@Cooper Drawing is surprisingly meditative for me. This one was inspired by a line from one of the poems I'm illustrating. "Le lingue afone," which I loosely translated to "muted tongues."

Hi Francis...love this artwork..it reminds me of a poem entitled "muted argument", written by a friend. :)
