This is the first in a series of illustrations I promised to Hanna for a self-published poetry book she is planning to release in the fall. If I seem periodically absent from the blog over the next few weeks, it's because I'm diligently working to create more of these drawings (among other things).

You will be missed...but for such a worthy project it's all good...:)))I will still stop by regularly to your back full time..
Don't mute too long. I just discovered you, and would like to see more current stuff.
Hi Francis!
Grazie della pubblicita..
Saluti dalle vacanze!

Muted tongues is apt for this. Good luck with your next venture.
@Confused I'll still be around ... I just wanted to let folks know there may be a few days between posts until I get caught up on some things.
@Jack I don't think I could stay mute for more than a week without exploding.
@Hanna Happy vacation!
@Jena I have many concurrent ventures that I'm trying to juggle with mixed success :).
I am always dropping by here, so I will keep an eye out for you popping your head up.
Makes you wonder what they are all blabbing about. At least they are quiet, muted. :)
You enjoy your time with your art.
A perfect title for this one Franics.I love it.
@Guy Just don't play whack-a-mole with me when my head raises out of its hole :).
@Laura I just had dinner at a Mexican restaurant with a friend who ordered tongue, which was not only muted but sliced ... gave me the willies :).
@Cooper Drawing is surprisingly meditative for me. This one was inspired by a line from one of the poems I'm illustrating. "Le lingue afone," which I loosely translated to "muted tongues."
nice site :)
