Drawing up a happy new year

I finished another set of drawings for my friend George Kokines. He's going to lock them away in some secret, private art stash, so I thought I better share these photos before they disappear from public viewing.

A wordless panorama, the sketches stretch across the pages reflecting some strange push-pull, socio-religious, techno-sexual contradiction buried deep in my psyche.

I've divided the panels into three overlapping segments for easier viewing. Click on any of the images to see them larger.

I'm not sure about what your drawings make me think about, but they to invite more time to wonder. All three of my sons draw, and I am always in awe of what they create. Happy New Year to you, and very warm wishes for good things to happen. Like, maybe I won't be such a slacker reader, right?

Hi Kelly,
Happy New Year to you, and don't worry about the slacking ... I can relate. I remember you posting one of your son's drawings and it was pretty cool. I don't even know what to make of mine, so you're in good company :).

Hi Hanna,

I've got photos, so that's one way to preserve them. I'll make sure the book is kept safe too. Thanks for seeing so much of merit in them.

I'm not the jealous type. The octopus is a big boy now and free to choose other sites if he'd like. Feel free to display him on your blog, just let me know when he's up there.

Wow, this sound so lovely. I have read "A wordless panorama, the sketches stretch across the pages..." Your language was eloquent indeed. The post touched my heart. Thank you.
However, in case these pictures were made to your friend George Kokines, why do you worry for their disappearance from public viewing?

Francis,

The apple and worm is my favorite. So what exactly is this secret collection you are part of?..lol. Interesting. I didn't know you could draw. You are definately multi-talented.

Peace,
Lisa

Your welcome Hanna, and I have no doubt there's much to analyze in my drawings.

Thanks for the comment Tomas, and I'm very glad my language and art touched you. I was just joking with my friend George ... no real worries about the state of the drawings.

Hi Lisa,
To be honest, I didn't know I could draw either. I've doodled a lot and played around with cartooning quite some time ago but hadn't picked up a pencil in many years. George did a good job of "drawing" the art out of me by giving me the book. I'm glad you like them. I'm not sure what the next step is for me and the visual arts.

If this is where your imagination takes you consciously, I'm guessing your dreams are really far out and abstract!

Yeah, my dreams can definitely be pretty wild. All without the benefit of any chemical alteration too.
