Snowscape V (the end)

The winter white takes
shallow breaths
and exhausted she coughs
grey complaints
about the crushed
green of popped-down bottles,
a cellophane cat
holding his short stock
of shock-yellow crumbs,
and other man-made matters
mocking her color
but, not her,
they don’t fade away
