Let there be sound...

I'm experimenting with embedding audio files on the blog. If the player doesn't work, the mp3 is available here. This one is of me reading my recent poem Saint Nicholas. The sound quality isn't great (I need to invest in a better microphone), so you may have to turn your speakers up a bit.

What a brilliant idea, Francis! It would be a great feature at FoS too, for those who are brave enough. :)

I have been thinking about this myself. Or perhaps even youtube readings (if I get over the nervous factor). Even though I understand and know how to spell the English words, I might not pronounce some of the speciality words 100% correctly.

Unfortunately, I think Wordpress does a much better job with embedded audio than Blogger. I don't know why they'd set it up to only show the player in a feed reader, or maybe I'm missing something. If I figure it out, I think getting poets to post audio to FoS would be a great idea. YouTube is another option, but I'd want to use photos or animation for that.

Hope you find a way to embed it. Some mounths ago, I tried and tried to embed an audio too, without success. I had seen this on Wordpress blogs, as you mentioned. Blogger is not the best tool when it comes to exhibiting different art forms, I think. There are technical limitations.

YouTube videos with photos or animations mixed with poetry readings is a great idea.
