Gun powder

Clustered oak leaves owe
their trembling to gun powder.
One dove's coo calms them.

This is a brilliant visual, Francis. The dove always keeps its cool, like the water snake.

Funny, I am writing a poem with the word "krut" (English: "gun powder") in it at the moment. The snappiness of "krut" is lost in translation. But the "pow" in "powder" kinda compensates for it.

@Jenny I think we poets affect each others brain waves :). I really would like to hear your Swedish poems read aloud, as my knowledge of the language isn't very good.

@Susan That makes me smile :)

@hb You're word associations are spot on.

@Twitches My "internal ear" is much better than my actual one... kind of like my speaking voice :).
