Once thick, straight and double yellow

Once thick, straight and double yellow
the lines he hesitated to cross
now curve and stretch
as thin as his prospects

nice poem here... STAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD! (unless of course you're in a place where you're supposed to drive on the left)

then again, why hesitate to cross this line? like a coloring book for kids? why stay inside the lines?

is it the danger that compels to conform? danger compels to confront?

And our tendency to go outside those lines seems to lessen with age.
