Shedding layers, continued

To/o now shed layers
By Francis Scudellari

To/o now shed layers, made
Rheumy, false skins remove,
Strip bare facades, costumed
Everyday, worn out-
Ward shows, for others (in)
Sane, high-mannered walls raze

To/o simple appearance,
Bearable masked, cast off
Many-faced, surface-cut
Arrangement, untidy
Boxes, open-lid toss
Aside: new lines spoken

To/o plastic smile, attached
Persona peel, (a)way
Leaving only, naked
Put-on amorphous, gray
Shaded come ... placate no
One, else wanting to see

Hmmm...this sounds like something I need to do. Or is it something I've already done, and haven't taken the time to realize?

Hi Kelly,
The way I've written it, I'm not even sure what it is exactly I've done! :)

Thanks JD. I was a bit stuck earlier in the week, so I'm glad to have produced something interesting again.

Francis, I think that's what happens with writing like this -- like any art. It finds its own way. That's what makes it so intriguing.

Absolutely Kelly. I have a general sense of where I want things to end up, but they always take on a life of their own as I work on them. And I usually undermine my originally intended conclusion with some ambiguity.
