Leftover embraces

She wraps herself in the ragged
wool shawl, less for its leaky warmth
than its leftover embraces

Yes!

For some reason this made me think of an old Carl Sanburg poem (Chicago poems, I think) with a line about the wind off the lake wrapping the city in it's arms.

Leftover embraces, indeed. Thank you for this mental image.
