A planted heart

This is an illustration of Hanna Filo's poem Non Piangere (Don't Cry). It takes as its inspiration the following lines: Vi crescerà una verticale sorta d'amore / A sostenere i cieli per me (It will grow to you, a vertical type of love / to hold up the skies for me).

Superb Francis,

It depicts exactly the concept. Way to go...as always.

Cheers.

Love this illustration. A tree growing each and everyday with roots planted deep inside. Beautiful!

I'm with Breeni. This is one of my all-time favorites of yours. So far, anyway.

Makes me think of that painting where the tree is the same with branches above and below the ground. If that artist had thought of adding the heart where the soil is he would have added a lot more emotion to the picture. I really like yours, it has more heart.

@BreeniBooks Thanks! I think it's an indication that the more I draw, the better I get :)

@Jena I think I take some liberties with the concept, but thanks as always for the appreciation.

@Hanna You're most welcome ... and I still owe you a preface.

@JodaPoet The heart can be a fertile place ... I've had a few seeds take root there :).

@Susan Thanks ... I do hope to keep improving :).

@Confused I'm glad it's a popular opinion :).

@Laura Literally and figuratively :). I think that keeping my emotions pent up too much in daily life causes them to spill out on the page.

This reminds me of the two TROPICAL HYACINTHS I rescued form Lowes parking lot "discarded because they froze" section last spring.

Lovely.

Your post title alone is poetic; the image itself is absolutely gorgeous. Well done once again.

@Char I tend to make the strange seem organic ... bring my odd imaginings to life :)

@Cooper While frozen, or after they recovered? Did they recover? It's awesome that you rescued them.

@Jon Thanks ... I'll post about it soon :).

@Fiendish I kind of liked the title myself :) ... I'm glad you took a break from studying to post again.
