Wry reflection

I'm not the swan, I am
a lesser, wry reflection
sipping at an idle drift
before breakfasted, its wings
lift me from the mirror

I have just gotten back ob blogger after a long hiatus. I am so happy to be back and reading your poems.

This particularly fantastic. Plath's "Mirror" is brought to mind here, but wonderfully condensed. It is so concise and powerful in its brevity. And the shift from "idle drift" to "wings and "lift" is brilliantly done.
