Well, from the perspective of a spider, my guess is they can be. I guess the point is the things that sicken us (though I like spiders), we may also sicken.

Where in SoMD are you from? I just graduated from St. Mary's, and even as my wanderlust drives me onwards and outwards in the world I still catch myself reminiscing about the Bay.
I'm glad you're enjoying the poetry. I grew up in Fort Washington, in PG county about 30 minutes due south from DC, near the Potomac. Unfortunately the area got over-developed so it's not as nice as it was.
