Muck

Lugubrious muck
lures dubiously soled boots
down to black suckling

I enjoy the image this conjures up. And I am a big fan of the naturalistic. My guess is that most boots are "dubiously soled" these days.

Word veri: existic

And most of us, dubiously souled :). Maybe we should start writing definitions for these strange word verifications.

Existic (adj.) - simulating being.

The existic rock was imprinted with a pattern that seemed to smile back at him.

Existic. Yes, a simulating being sounds like a good definition. And perhaps, as a sub divisional meaning, someone who is showing off his or her existence, rather flamboyantly.

Intricate, as though each word has been individually crafted and thought about.

@Jenny That's a very interesting visual :).

@Scrybe Thanks. I probably obsess over my word choices more than I should.

long time reader, new follower, definite admirer....
I enjoy your work here and on Flowers of Sulfur and Flashing By.... you are so prolific!
I love this word, lugubrious, so sustained for the beginning and apropos to the speed of the movement described.

I look forward to continued reading and commenting.... I quite like what you are doing.

@Harlequin I have a bit of a mania that pushes me to keep writing new stuff. The shorter poems give me a good way to have a quick fix between the longer ones. I really appreciate the repeated visits and comments.
