I think the sense of dots pushing back and forth like magnetic opposites is very striking here. I also think of floaters in the eye's vitreous body and the numbness of insomnia. The surreal feeling in this poem is described in a great way.
I think that's the appeal of the shorter forms to me, it allows for so much to go "unsaid" and can create some interesting interpretations.
