Unfortunately the US has much more ability to mess with others as well as its own citizens. Our Congress, ostensibly led by the opposition Democrats just acquiesced to more spying. It's disheartening, but I think with enough concerned people, we can get some more accountability and perhaps reverse current trends.Francis Scudellarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01008685302028451297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31030337.post-19605068902419523322007-08-07T16:54:00.000-04:002007-08-07T16:54:00.000-04:00Very simple principals and elegantly proposed. I would say that both Australian political parties, who are posturing at the moment prior to an imminent election have broadly similar tax policies. Electing either changes nothing.

The issues that you talk about go to some of the central issues of the developed world today. Too much tax, too much control, too much warmongering, too much surveillance. Governments should back off.Colin Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14991363859883869289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31030337.post-81029490307359207852007-08-07T01:36:00.000-04:002007-08-07T01:36:00.000-04:00Hi Jen,As someone who routinely opposes many thing...Hi Jen,

As someone who routinely opposes many things our government is doing, especially recently, I'm in a similar position. What I'd really like is a way to direct how my tax money is spent, rather than not paying at all. That might be a law worth pursuing, but they'd write it broadly enough to circumvent it.Francis Scudellarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01008685302028451297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31030337.post-48276669697358867412007-08-06T20:12:00.000-04:002007-08-06T20:12:00.000-04:00VERY nice post Francis!I recently watched a very d...VERY nice post Francis!

I recently watched a very disturbing movie on the government (a bit of a conspiracy theory), and I'm feeling inclined to stop paying taxes, stop inadvertantly agreeing with things to which I do not agree.

I'm not sure how to go about it but my awareness is expanding for sure!

Thank you for this!

JJJennifer Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04593797320592103928noreply@blogger.com
